About Khatlon State Medical University

Khatlon State Medical University (KhSMU) is a state medical university located in Danghara, Khatlon Region, Tajikistan. The university was established by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2016 to strengthen medical education and develop qualified healthcare professionals for the country and the region.
KhSMU offers medical education in Tajik, Russian and English, with a strong emphasis on theoretical learning, practical training and clinical experience. The university reports more than 3,000 enrolled students, including over 1,000 international students, supported by a faculty of more than 200 educators. Students receive clinical exposure through the university's teaching facilities and affiliated hospitals and clinics.
